Continuing Education

We offer a variety of highly informative and professionally instructed Continuing Education Courses every month at our main classroom locations. At these locations all 15 hours of the required real estate continuing education credits can be completed in just 2 days. Weekday and weekend courses are available.

Parking: There is free parking available at our locations in Silver Spring, Glen Burnie & Bowie. Pay parking is available at the North Bethesda location.

Locations:  Please take note of the location where the class will be given on the date you schedule. We have classrooms in Silver Spring, North Bethesda / Rockville, Glen Burnie and in Bowie where we usually offer a complete set of classes every month.

Instructions: Late arrivals will NOT be admitted for CE credit. Please allow plenty of time for traffic. You must contact us a minimum of five (5) days in advance of a class to reschedule and/or cancel and receive a refund ($10 processing fee applies for refunds). Seating reservations will not be confirmed until payment has been received.

Cost:  3 hour credit classes $30;
1.5 hour credit classes $15
      $10 late registration fee for 'walk-ins"

Inclement Weather Policy

The Academy and our instructors make every effort to hold classes that you register for, even on ‘snow’ days. If, however, you are unable to attend a class due to inclement weather and you notify the school on that day via email, the Academy will grant you a refund for that day’s classes or credit the same amount toward any rescheduled classes in the future.

If any classes would be cancelled due to inclement weather that information would be posted here. If you have any question about a class offering, please check this webpage the morning of the class.

CLASS LOCATIONS/DIRECTIONS

To the Silver Spring location:
From the Capital Beltway (495) Take Exit 28A - New Hampshire Avenue North (White Oak). Pass over Powder Mill Road to 10230 New Hampshire Avenue, Suite 102 Silver Spring, MD 20903. The building will be on your left. Free parking is available.

To the North Bethesda / Rockville / White Flint location:
North on Wisconsin Ave/Rockville Pike (Rt. 355), turn left on Security Lane (Across the street from White Flint Mall), right on Woodglen Drive to 11333 Woodglen Dr., Suite 100A Rockville , MD 20852. Near White Flint Metro stop. All day parking across the street is $5.

To the North Arlington/ Rosslyn Virginia location:

   North Arlington / Courthouse Station Metro Directions: 2101 Wilson Blvd. Arlington, VA. 22201 Suite 100A
    (½ block from Courthouse Station Metro). Parking options: 1) Ample meter parking is available on surrounding streets, but
    check time ' limit ' as meters are monitored. There are several 4-12 hour meters on Vietch St. 2) There is all-day $10 parking
    in the garage under the building.. The classroom is located at 2101 Wilson Blvd. Suite 100 A (off the main lobby)
    Arlington,VA 22201.

    To the Bowie location:
    From the Capital Beltway (495), Take Exit 19- Route 50 East (towards ANNAPOLIS). Take the first Exit – Route 704
    Martin Luther King Jr. Highway and bear to the right. On Martin Luther King Jr. Highway, go to the fourth traffic light
    and make a right at Lottsford Vista Road. Make the first left in the Vista Gardens Shopping Center. Our building is
    across the parking lot from the Home Depot -
    go to 2^nd Floor of 10201 Martin Luther King Jr. Highway, Bowie, MD 20720

    To the BWI - Glen Burnie location:
    6934 Aviation Blvd, Glen Burnie, MD 21061   From Baltimore Beltway (I-695) merge onto I-97 (exit 4) toward
    I-97S/Annapolis/Bay Bridge. Take exit 15 toward MD-162/Aviation Blvd/BWI Airport. Right onto Airport Loop/Aviation
    Blvd/MD-162W. Classroom is in the KW Training Room at 6934 Aviation Blvd which is on the right.

Maryland
IF YOUR MARYLAND LICENSE EXPIRES ON OR AFTER 10/2/08, HOURS NEEDED ARE:

Residential, (ALL LICENSEES)	15 hours which must include 3.0 legislative, 1.5 fair housing, 3.0 ethics
Licensees with a graduate degree in law or real estate from an accredited college or university (must supply documentation at audit)	7.5 hours (3.0 legislative, 1.5 fair housing, 3.0 ethics)

Legislative topic (a) fair housing topic (c), and ethics topic (d) are required Maryland courses. The ethics course must include MD Code of Ethics, Flipping and Predatory Lending.

DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
An applicant for renewal of any REAL ESTATE BROKER, ASSOCIATE BROKER OR PROPERTY MANAGER license which is expiring on February 28, 2011 or REAL ESTATE SALESPERSONS license expiring on August 31, 2011, must submit proof of completing 15 hours of approved continuing education credit in the following subjects:

The 15-hour continuing education (CE) requirement for the current licensing cycle 2009-2011 is as follows:

3.0-hrs Fair Housing
3.0-hrs DC Legislative Update
3.0-hrs Financing Issues/Update
6.0-hrs General electives

Effective 3/1/2009: New Mandatory CE for the 2009-2011 Licensing Cycle- Financing Issues/Update is now a required course, replacing Ethics. If you have already completed Ethics, it will be automatically converted to an elective.
